A significant improvement in rail services in the Hauts-de-France region

The implementation of SERM Hauts-de-France will bring a considerable increase in transport services on all branches of the Lille rail hub. This initiative will double the number of trains and increase the frequency to every fifteen minutes at peak times. These improvements will improve service and reduce waiting times for users.

Development of Multimodal Transit Centers (PEM)

To complete this new transport offer, multimodal interchange hubs will be developed. These infrastructures will enhance mobility services by offering efficient feeder solutions, enabling a genuine end-to-end transport offer. They will also promote seamless integration between different modes of transport, making journeys faster and more convenient for users.

A positive impact for millions of inhabitants

This ambitious project will benefit over 3.8 million inhabitants, covering the coalfield and the Franco-Belgian catchment area. Improving mobility in these areas will facilitate daily travel, reduce road congestion and contribute to a better quality of life for residents.

Our mission as Project Management Assistant (AMO)

As AMO, we support the Société des grands projets – formerly Société du Grand Paris – in coordinating the consolidation phase of the feasibility studies. This stage is crucial in preparing for the referral of the project to the French National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP). In collaboration with setec tpi, setec ferroviaire and setec international, we carried out a review of the current status of the rail studies in order to assess their maturity, identify gaps and formulate recommendations for the next stages.

We also carried out an inventory of stations and multimodal interchange hubs to assess current provision and compare it with future developments in rail provision and regional development. Our mission also included support for territorial dialogue, carried out in partnership with Stratéact, our partner in charge of consultation.

Working in partnership

We would like to pay tribute to the commitment of the various public and private players involved. Their contribution has been essential to the development and analysis of the studies, as demonstrated by the feedback seminar we organized in early April. This collaboration is key to the success of the SERM Hauts-de-France project.

In conclusion, the Service Express Régional Métropolitain Hauts-de-France project represents a major step forward for sustainable mobility and improved quality of life in the region. Thanks to a concerted effort and a clear vision, we are moving towards a future where mobility will be smoother, greener and more efficient.
