A cultural and functional metamorphosis

Taking advantage of a temporary closure, the Centre National d’Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou is undertaking a number of initiatives to reaffirm its central place in the cultural landscape:

  • Reaffirmation of the cultural and artistic dimension: The project aims to enrich the experience of public spaces such as the forum, exhibition areas and the Bibliothèque Publique d’Information (BPI).
  • Functional improvements: Updates are planned to better meet the current and future needs of visitors and Centre managers.
  • Complex maintenance and renovation work: Particular attention is paid to the maintenance and renovation of existing infrastructures.
Integration of environmental ambitions: In the current context of climate change, the project integrates ecological and sustainable objectives.

The ultimate aim is to offer visitors an enriched experience, going beyond the simple technical aspects that are often invisible to the public.

A winner to steer the transformation

In June, after a rigorous competition, the Moreau Kusunoki agency was chosen to lead the transformation. In an interview with Le Monde newspaper, Hiroko Kusunoki commented: “The program was very prescriptive. It was based on extensive feasibility studies, made necessary by the nature of this museum.”

A promising future for the Centre Pompidou

We are proud to have contributed to this exceptional adventure, combining technical expertise and cultural vision to reinvent a landmark on the Parisian landscape. This transformation promises to redefine the visitor experience and reinforce the Centre Pompidou’s role as a beacon of contemporary culture.

With this project, the Centre Pompidou continues to assert its status as a global benchmark, both artistically and technically, while incorporating essential sustainability principles for the future.

The program was highly prescriptive. It was based on extensive feasibility studies, necessitated by the nature of the museum.
